Welcome to “Car Man: The Movie”. I wrote this screenplay a few years back. After a few half-hearted attempts to have someone read it, I kinda gave up. I present it here for your enjoyment.
Faithful readers to my blog, “Confessions of a Car Man”, will recognize many of the themes and situations presented here. Much of the screenplay is steeped in the experiences I have encountered over the last forty years selling cars.
Because of the limitations of blogspot.com and/or my inability to understand exactly how it works, the format of “Car Man” isn’t exactly in the accepted form. But it is essentially the way all screenplays are set up. It may take a few minutes to get used to it. I suggest you read it as a movie in your mind. I always imagined Owen Wilson in the part of Les Sledgeway.
The original manuscript is 95 pages long. Each page represents about one minute of screen time. So if this were a real movie in would be a little over an hour and a half long; a typical running time for a comedy.
I hope you enjoy “Car Man”. Your comments will be appreciated. And if your brother-in-law happens to be an L.A. agent, tell him about me!
